This morning I was scrolling through my bookmarks on Activerain. I love that feature. 
I bookmark posts for a few reasons:
1) Technology tips I need to spend more time learning
2) Posts I want to reblog in the future
3) Long posts I want more time to absorb and think about.
This morning I was reading Jason Crouch's post:
How to generate and track backlinks for your Active Rain profile - A few basic SEO tips
Jason's post was written in July of 08. After reading the post I went back and checked my backlinks for my ActiveRain blog. There are 489 comments on Jason's blog, but perhaps if you started your ActiveRain journey after 2008, you will want to read it.
Here is how you do it:
Go to Google Search, put in the Search bar:
"link":http://activerain.com/missycaulk or whatever your user name is. If you have an outside blog put in that "link":http://AnnArborRealEstateTalk.com
One of the backlinks I found was AcreScout.com/top-real-estate-blogs/
My big surprise was my blog Ann Arbor Real Estate Talk was on that list of 75 Top Real Estate Blogs.
Now my little real estate blog was listed with what I consider to be top bloggers, who were instrumental on the beginnings of ActiveRain, plus other Top Bloggers many of whom have been mentors to me around the country.

I launched Ann Arbor Real Estate Talk in November of 07, it is a WordPress.org blog, built by my friends Bobby and Brad at Dakno. It took about 3-5 months to get it indexed on the Search Engines.
The purpose (do you have a blog purpose?) was to have a Ann Arbor Real Estate blog that was totally focused on information for the consumers looking for information on the Ann Arbor area, neighborhoods, schools, the market, events etc...
They gave me a little badge I could put on my blog so I did.
