This weekend I was checking my analytics. I use several programs, site meter, google analytics and getclicky. They all give similiar results but sometimes different.
One of the things I noticed was that people in the Ann Arbor area are already searching for Halloween Events. But, like my Saline Christmas Parade post last year the information they are finding OLD posts.
I had an Art Event Chairman call me, upset last year and asked that I take the post down from Google since everyone was going to get confused.
She was not happy. Didn't understand the internet and indexing. I of course updated the old post and then wrote a new one.
There is no way to take down and old post unless you delete it and then the consumer will get a 404 error....not good.
So I put up a post on Halloween Event in Washtenaw County so the consumers would find new information, dates, times and events.
When we blog we set expectations for our consumers. When you blog on events...art, running, Christmas or Halloween the old posts will stay indexed and if you don't want them to find an old, outdated post you need to update.
So just a friendly reminder to update those past event posts when another year has come and gone.
Wiards Orchard, is located at 5565 Merrit Rd in Ypsilanti Township, 48197, easy access off I-94 and only 15 minutes west of the airport. Lots of scary, fun events to experience at Wiards. Each event is $15.00 but you can visit all 6 for $29.00. This was always a fun event my kids enjoyed.
Chelsea Maize, is located in Chelsea Michigan on 2433 on Hwy M52. (Exit off I-94 at Exit 159) The cost is 6.00 during the day and 8.00 after 7:00. This is a good venue if you are looking for a birthday party or group event.
Hell-O-Weekends is located in Hell, Michigan. Every Saturday from now until October 31st, there is a costume parade for children. Hell, Michigan is located off 23N, off M36 West of Whitmore Lake in the Pinckney area.
Pinckney Michigan is home to the Terrorifield Forest and Manor. Not for children under 12. Ok, who said adults can’t have a little fun. Terrorifield Forest is located at 145 Swarthout Rd, in Pinckney, Michigan.
