Ann Arbor is ranked in the top 15 cities for commuters to live in.
In a new report published this week by US News and World Report and featured on Yahoo Real Estate, it was said:
Ann Arbor, Mich. Average commute time: 18.4 minutes .
Non-car commuters: 27.5 percent
Since it is one of the best-known college towns in America, it shouldn't be surprising that Ann Arbor is not car-heavy. Many of the city's major employers, such as the academic journal service JSTOR, the weather service Weather Underground, and the headquarters for Google's AdWords service are based downtown. That centralized location and Ann Arbor's compact nature make commuting easy for walkers, bikers, and bus riders.

We enjoy reading about other areas and it looks like Ann Arbor with less commuter time has much to offer!
Missy - This is great information for people looking to relocate to the Ann Arbor area. The city of New Haven where I live is #16 right behind Ann Arbor and something I'll have to post about now thanks to you sharing that Yahoo article.
Missy,
I'll bet this is a fun place to live with all of the kids on their own for the first time...
Just a FYI - the link to the "SLIDE SHOW" does not open in a new window - it opens over your blog - because I went through and looked at all the cities referenced (I can't believe Pittsburgh beats anyone at anything except Football). So, what I'm saying is it took me a long time to get back to your blog...you might want to edit that.

That is good to know about Ann Arbor. Colleges and major universities always have a major impact and contribution to their communities.
I never knew this about Ann Arbor. Everything is in close reach to everyone. Missy, how did Ann Arbor get it's name?
Missy, the commute time is not much more than the drive for commuters here in the Ozarks.
Tom here a post I wrote on the history. Ann Arbor History
John, how do I do that?
Donna, go for it.
I bet Austin is not on this list, as our traffic is pretty bad.
