Ann Arbor Undressed : Printing a post in Activerain.

Ann Arbor ="25 miles surrounded by reality".....and a blog about it. ActiveRain.com

Printing a post in Activerain.

Activerain launches new blogs. I'm sure you've heard... how exciting.

We all have more questions and I suspect  that post will eventually be the longest post on record.

Gita asked a question there, and someone else did.

The question was, "how do I print this out, without  all the comments".

Easy.

Highlight what you want to print.

Go up to the File

Select Print

Then click on the Print Selection.

It will ONLY print what you wanted.

You can also open up Activerain in two windows and toggle back and forth, step by step. That is how I learned to import video's into the post.

Now one less question for Brad and the gang to answer.

Thanks for the tips

Missy, What do you think this is going to do for google juice?  When one post is going to 3 different spots?  I got another domain name just to get more exposure

Hi

Thanks for the Tip and the link to the outside blog

I have read and heard so much about NOT posting the same post on different blogs, and that search engines do not like it etc. . .

Do you have any thought son that?

Posted by Anne Hensel Real Estate Professional buy or sell St. Pete about 1 year ago

Hey Missy how come you get to answer all the easy questions :)

Posted by Bill Gassett Metrowest Massachusetts Real Estate (RE/MAX Executive Realty) about 1 year ago

Missy:  I have done this on outside posts but never on AR.  The problem I've had with outside posts is that the print is so small I can't see it without a magnifying glass.  I'll try it here.

Posted by Jan Wood (None) about 1 year ago

Thanks for this, Missy! I still wish we could print the post in shape to show our clients, with the nice format :) But your tip helps at least get it done for reference ;) !!

Posted by Kim Wood (The Tech Byte) about 1 year ago

Missy - Thanks for the tip. I've accidently printed a post and all of the comments. It was several pages long.

Posted by Elizabeth Payne (Keller Williams ) about 1 year ago

I've done this before, but forgot how....thanks....I "kinda" forgot.

I am sure that tip is helpful for most.  I find most people are not familiar with that command.  Spending a lot of time on the internet I use it a lot.  I also print to PDF using that command so I can send it to others.

Russ, nothing google will still love us.

Randy, I use that command all the time too. A paper saver.

Bill, because it was so easy, I knew the answer to it.

Elizabeth, LOL. We all do it once to learn.

Missy, I used the latest version of SnagIt to to the copying.  With a couple of clicks, SnagIt will capture the entire post, including the comments, and will convert it to an Adobe .PDF file (or any of about a dozen other formats, including JPEG).

I don't think I've ever printed an ActiveRain post, but good to know there's a printer-friendly way to do it. Also like the idea from Madeline using SnagIt. Thanks for the tip, Missy!

Good information for the technically challenged, Missy.  Goodness, how do you have time for a blog post in the middle of the M2T contest.

Posted by Margaret Woda, Maryland Real Estate (Margaret Woda (Long and Foster, Crofton MD Real Estate)) about 1 year ago

Thanks Missy - but you are are too late!  I decided to print it a little while ago, hit print, went outside to water my plants - it was still printing - the post and all of the comments.  I already had 30 color pages before I canceled the print.  Never thought it would print the comments, too, the print page said pg 1 of 1.

( I really must quit confessing to all of these DS things I do! )

Thanks for yout tasking the time to provide us with this information in the Active Rain network.  AR is the new "cyber backbone" of the industry, and with it's uplink to Localism.com it will transfrom the marketplace. Agents who don't see which way the cyberwind is blowing are going to find themselves at a considerable disadvantage inside of three to five years.

Such an easy step, so simple it is easily forgotten, thanks for the reminder and paper/ink saver :-D

Missy....  huh?   Maybe I am tired.....  I know it's the end of the month.  But do you mean, to print a blog like this?   Maybe I should go read the comments later.

Eric, snagit works great too, and I started to mention it, but wanted to make it quick as people were trying to set up their new blogs.

Realworld Properties, are you using FF or IE? You should be able to print that way in FF, I never have much success in IE. But, I remember reading a post on it here. Go to the search bar and type in using print screen, I think the post will come up.

Jeff, yes when you want to learn something, you can highlight the part you need to print. You obviously don't want to print all the comments.

Neal, LOL lot of downsides.

I answered the easy one ! Brad has been so helpful to me, that I thought I could jump in and take one less question off their plates.
