I live in Saline, Mi and love it. It is a wonderful community to live and raise a family.
Saline is located on a few miles South of Ann Arbor and we live only 6 minutes to Briarwood Mall. One of the main attractions to Saline is the schools. We have the largest school buildings in Michigan.
Saline High School opened in September of 2007 and is a gorgeous building. Looks more like a small Division 3 college campus with all the athletic fields and a new elementary school Harvest on campus.
Why did we chose to live in Saline ?
At the time we moved here we had been living in Ann Arbor, my husband did a wedding in Saline and I fell in love with the small town atmosphere. We transfered our children to a Christian School in Saline, Washtenaw Christian Academy. The rest is history...
The market is Saline has not suffered as bad as some of the area's outside Ann Arbor. Currently there are 293 homes on the market in Saline from 100,000 and up.
Between July 1st and August 1st we closed 18 homes. The most sold was nine in the 300 to 400 price range. Four homes closed between 400 and 500. There are currently 25 homes in Saline under contract.

One home closed over 500K, it was listed at 749.000 and closed at 650,00 and was on the market for 91 days.

Missy, I really like how you put a personal spin on your market reports. I like all of the links you provided, especially your post about living in Saline. You go girl! Looks like I need to step it up a bit on my market reports:)
Hee hee, I like how you say, "only 6 minutes to Briarwood Mall"...you are such a girl! :)
We lived in Ann Arbor for a time while our house was being built in Chelsea. I would take the kids to meet Brian at the Olga's in Briarwood for lunch, yum.
Missy, there is nothing like the feeling and charm of a small town where people know who you are and you do know many..Saline must be one of these. That is why we also live in a small town.
Small towns around a big city is great you can go to the attractions but you don't have to live in it. Nice story.
I love the small town atmosphere too. What kind of business is your husband in?
Missy - I can relate because I too love the small town feel. Saline sounds wonderful, you have given us quiet a virtual tour of the area in your posting.
Hi Missy,
Nice report, good info for anyone relocating to the Saline area. Your husband "did" a wedding??? Did he marry someone, shoot the wedding?
Missy- I love your market reports for the same reasons that Elizabeth does, the personal touch makes all the difference.
Missy
Sounds like a nice town
Sincerely
Glenn Shong
Missy you can certainly see your passion for Saline and of course who know it better than you!
Missy, great post. So, I would ask, how many Realtors in your little town? It sounds like a wonderful little town.;-)
Hi Missy: You make me want to move my family to Saline.... it sounds great.... I guess that I have to visit there some day... Great post...
Missy, It sounds to me like you are doing well! If you love where you are then it makes it a lot easier to sell it! Are you getting most of your leads from the Internet or do they still utilize your local paper advertising? Curious! Later in the rain~Deb
Missy, thanks for sharing why you love Saline...it sounds like the perfect option...wonderful small-town feel but close to everything you might want or need and great schools!
CNN/Money Magazine once again named Saline one of the country's top 100 "Best Places to Live" out of more than 1,300 cities ranked. I also saw that on Best Life'snew report that Ann Arbor was in the top 30 best places to raise a family. Congratulations Missy. I also see you have the first page of a google search for saline real estate nailed down!!!! You go girl!
Go Bucks! ; )
I had no idea Saline was this great and so close to Ann Arbor - I love being near a cool city like Ann Arbor but away from things a bit. You do such a great job representing your area and making it sound so desirable.
Missy, thanks for the post. I used to live in Michigan as a kid and visit from time to time. I still have good friends that live there and keep in touch with them. I totally miss that small town feeling.
