This year the Ann Arbor Art Walk is scheduled for Friday, October 17th from 5-10 P.M. and Saturday, October 18th from 12-5 P.M.
The Art Walk Guide represents a consortium of galleries, exhibition spaces, visual artists and crafts people in the greater Ann Arbor area.
As of this year, Art Walk has taken another big step by joining forces with the Arts Alliance, the Washtenaw County non-profit organization that works for all the arts in this county. Art Walk members have become linked with such efforts as the Artists Census, which made a count of artists in every field working in the county.
More than 2000 artists create their work, pay taxes, their craft, and vote in this county, which means that the arts are a major economic sector in Washtenaw County.
One of my good friends, Karen Dean is having a special private showing this Saturday, September 20th from 2-5 at 1730 Stonebridge Drive S in Ann Arbor, Mi.
Karen will be introducing her newest book, Kitty Kate's Tea Party and her latest two paintings, "The Grand Blessing", and "Number 42", along with her other work.
The following galleries will be open in October for you to walk and meet the artists. You can download a map from this site.
However, Karen would love for you to stop by this Saturday for a sneak preview.

Hi Missy I hope you have a great time at the Ann Arbor Art Walk. Looks like it could be real interesting.
Hi Missy, I love to participate in Art Walks! This is such a great way to learn about the local artists and their art. Have fun.
Missy If it was a wee bit closer I know I would be in attendance. I love getting the chance to view the creative side of others.
This sounds like a lot of fun!!! I love looking at the art people have created. And by the way, this is off topic, but I LOVE your profile pic!!!!
Missy
Your friend Karen is an extremely talented person.
Hope all is well.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz
Missy,
Your post reminded me of one of my friends. She runs Art Works a non profit art therapy organization that works with children fighting cancer. Thanks for the inadvertent reminder (it is probably time for me to send her a donation). Enjoy your friends exhibit it looks like it should be fun.
Washtenaw County is such a great place to live! I love the Art Walk. Supporting local artists (and other businesses) is an important part of keeping our communities financially strong by keeping our money here. I hope lots and lots of people will participate in this years Art Walk and do some of their holiday shopping from the local artists.
