St. Joe's Mercy Hospital in Saline, MI.
Solucient, a leading procider of information for the healthcare industry has said the St.Joseph Mercy Hospital in Saline is in the top 100. Now being a city of only 7000 residents but surrounded by Lodi, Saline, Pittsfield and Saline Townships this was tremendous news.
As a mom of 5 who has made many visits there with broken arms, fingers and thumbs this was excellent news. Of course if you live in Saline you already knew it was great news. The emergency room staff and doctors are excellent and there is very little wait time.
Yes, as a mom of 3 boy football players, who have never had a accident, I broke my pinky finger attending a Lloyd Carr Women's football camp for charity a couple of years ago.

Ashley, I live in Saline, it is only about 3 miles away but totally different in feel and spirit. However, no one has heard of Saline, but most people have heard of Ann Arbor. My RE/MAX office is in Ann Arbor, we lived there 10 years and them moved out here to raise the kids.
Saline is a great community, I blog about it a lot in localism. It is easy to keep an eye on your kids in an area where everyone knows about you and you know your neighbors.
It is great to have an excellent hospital near by. Boston is well know for having some of the best medical facilities in the country.
A new hospital in a community is a real benefit. New jobs, access to health care, new doctors and nurses to buy homes.
My area, Woodland Park Colorado, opened a new hospital last year. It has been an enormous benefit to the community. Many people who live in my area were over 60 miles away from the nearest hospital. Now quality medical care is more closely available and many people who wouldn't move to the area before because of the absense of quality medical care are now more at ease.
Missy, That's wonderful for your area. We have to drive into the City or all the way out East for a good hospital...it would be wonderful to have a top rated one nearby.
That is nice to hear. I love that part of Michigan. Thanks for sharing.
When I had surgery several years ago I was able to pick between Saline Hospital and St Joes, I was told that at Saline there was no special check out time, I could stay as long as I wanted the next day since it is a smaller hospital and they don't need to clear the beds as quickly. I liked that idea as I knew I wouldn't feel very good and not being under pressure to get up and out was a relief. They took great care of me and I was very happy with my choice. Both my sons now work at U0fM hospital, so they are biased that their's is the best of all.
Beth, I have had my kids in there many times and the care is excellent.
