The Saline Chamber of Commerce presents the 33rd annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6th. The parade begins at 5:30 and it is always a huge hit.
The Saline Twirlettes will be performing, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops, Saline High Marching Band, Paws with a Cause, Roller Derby Girls, local dance troupes, floats and Santa Claus will be arriving in town.
Tom Mac of Tom Mac Photography is the Grand Marshal and I do believe he has taken the majority of all our graduating seniors senior pictures as well as all the Dance Alliance performances Allyssa was involved in.
The theme for this Christmas will be a "A Nostalgic Saline Christmas". Each of the floats will design their floats around that theme, and it is always fun to see the creativity of the churches, day-care centers, and schools.
I've been attending this parade for 19 years, sometimes it is really cold, sometimes it snows and other times the weather outside is moderate. The Kiwannas Club is always there handing out Free hot chocolate and popcorn.
This year the major sponsors of the Christmas Parade are:DTE, Jac Products, Flat Out, Comerica Bank, National City Bank, Liebherr, Key Bank and Scherer Trier.
Thank you for supporting our annual parade. The Saline Chamber is the mover and shaker fo the parade each year and it is such a help when these generous busineses help out.
The festivites start at 4:30 and shuttle buses will be available at Busches until 8:30, (not during the parade.)
The Saline Fiddlers will perform at 7:00 at Union School. You can come early and participate in the Carolers and Street Entertainers. The Saline Fiddlers is comprised of students at Saline High School and have performed at the 3 times at White House, and twice at the Kennedy Center. Photo's of the Saline Fiddlers are here.

Missy,
And who doesn't love a parade!!! Thanks, Fran
Missy: We're having our annual Blue Jay (Lake Arrowhead) parade on the 6th, also. They are so much fun, aren't they?
Missy, Saline has a wonderful line up of things to do...I hope you can get to some, I would love to see the photos.
Parades are so much fun! I have two to watch this weekend. Hope you have fun if you get to go to this one!
I do enjoy this time of the year and parades do get us in the Holiday spirit.
Hi Missy,
We always look forward to the local Christmas parades--Christmas season just is not official until we attend the parade.
Hi Missy, The holiday time is my personal favorite and I can wait for all the parade and slide shows come our way.
What a fun event!! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....
GBU, Missy~~
Santa is coming whoooo hooooo!! I have to find out when our parade is!
Missy -- Shows you how awake I am this morning. As I read this blog, I kept thinking: Why does she care about contact lenses solution? Is it manufactured in Michigan? LOL.
Dear Missy,
The Saline Fiddlers are awesome too. I knew this was coming; there are so many fun, fun activities this time of year.
Wow - 19 years - you must see a lot of people you know being such a local expert - great place to set up a hot chocolate stand - but then, this time of year, you would be so popular you wouldn't see much of the parade
Missy, be sure to take lots of photographs. I'm glad that they still refer to it as a Christmas Parade. ;-)
Christmas parades are soo much fun for the children. I haven't been to one in years.
Missy,
I've been attending this parade for 19 years... Since you were 12, then?! Is the town named after salt mines? I was watching the history channel's program about salt, and it showed extensive salt deposits under Michigan.

LOL Mike!!
Missy,
Every little smile counts in these times! It's my pleasure to make you laugh!
God bless,
Mike in Tucson
