Today, the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors, sponsored Lola Audu teaching a Continuing Education Class on Blogging. This class is approved by the State of Michigan for 4 hours on Con Ed.
It was a great class, Lola was her usual gracious, fun and informed speaker. There were about 26 of us there. I do believe folks finally "get it" that they must blog in order to not be left behind in growing their business.
Of course I was tweeting that I was there. Some people tweeted, "like you really need it", or "you could be teaching the class."
Actually No, I learned a ton. We should never feel we know it all. I sure know I learn things new all the time.I learned today.
The class was divided into two sections: 1) Blogging Basics for Real Estate Professionals 2) Ethics of Blogging for Real Estate Professionals.
To quote one of Lola's points:
Success in On-Line Marketing is an All Inclusive Process
- It's about having the tools
- It's about knowing how to use them
- I'ts about choosing what works
- it's aobut understanding why
- It's about time and consistency
- It's about effectively responding
We are blessed to have this class in Michigan and I know everyone there felt the same way.
Thanks Lola !!

Always nice to hear of fun but beneficial events like this ...thanks for reporting on it Missy :o)
WOW two amazing ladies.and I would have loved to have been there! ..OK Missy counting on you...did you take any video??? Lola rocks the house! BTW you aint so bad either! :)
Missy,
I do not know if our local has done anny of this, it is a great idea.
Oh wow, two of my most favorite Michigan people in the same photo. Sounds like it was a great day with Lola Missy.
Missy, what a treat. Lola IS gracious, isn't she? I've never met her in person but she called me once and we spoke a good long while. It was quite a blessing for me.
OK - now I'm jealous! :)
I would love to spend a day with both of you. I'm sure I would come away with my head full of new things to learn more about and implement.
It's great that Michigan has realized that social media IS an important part of our business.
I am so envious! I need someone here to do the class. Any suggestions?
Kay, I 've been teaching it around the state but not for Con Ed Credit. You do it. You can you will know more than the attendees. :)
Sounds like it was a great class! I've been doing 2 hours MCE credit, but it's an all around internet presence class, though a chunk talks about blogging as that's a good part of the presense.
We need a Lola in DC! Sounds great!
Missy, I'm sure that Lola was a great teacher. You've given me an idea -- I'm already slated to teach a blogging class at least 3 times this year to our agents -- maybe I should see about getting it approved for CE.
I love reading Lola's articles. She does an excellent job. I am sure the course was interesting.
Missy, I would have loved being there as well. I'd say come to New York and teach a class together...wow, it would be a sell out!
What a wonderful experience to spend time with Lola! I have really come to admire her writings, and to meet her in person would be such a treat!
Looks like you both had a blast! I wished I was there too.
Missy...
I am a bit envious that you know Lola personally. She's one of the folks I so wish I could meet. But, it's so cold in Michigan. I think my thin blood would freeze as soon as I stepped off that plane.
Oh My...I can't be envious...It's one of the seven deadlies. Taking it back and I'll be on my way :)
TLW...ROAR!
Oh My...
I really need to figure out how to get my tiny head in that image :)
Missy - This is really neat. I would have loved to have been there - snow and all :)
Wow, attended a con-ed class and still foud time to blog! When's the last time you missed a blogging day?
Drew
WOW, I would have loved to attend, what a great Association class offering. I LOVE reding and learning from both of you. ROCK ON!
Missy - that is great to hear that blogging is approved there for CE - here it is hard to get approved, maybe soon. ~Rita
Hi Missy,
There is always room to learn more.
BTW, thanks for the nice greeting and wishes for Katie!
HOW FUN!! There's always room for learning!
Hi Missy,
Now how cool is that. You and Lola. She definitely sounds (from post and comment content) like she could teach this stuff. I had wondered if I could. I had given thought to hosting a series of seminars at night school for blogging and have not made the decision thus far. Maybe Lola would share her presentation outline?
Congrats and it was great to see you both in one photo.
Missy, it was so good to see you again today! It's amazing to think of the difference that blogging has made in both our lives isn't it? The class today was really fun & having you there was great because you shared your experiences too. The Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors is to be commended for providing this sort of educational offering to their members.
Misy and Lola: Bring the class to California:-)!
That's wonderful! I know you enjoyed it as well as everyone else there. She really takes Con-Ed to a new level and there isn't a moment of boredom or "Gee, haven't we heard all of this already?" She is truly an innovator when it comes to teaching about Blogging and the responsibilities that go along with it.
Missy-I had the pleasure of attending one of Lola's blogging sessions. She's an eloquent and gifted teacher. My "Realtor" friends here in Grand Rapids appreciate all the grace she brings to our profession! Best to you~
Sounds like a great class. Our state won't approve blogging for CE credits. They don't perceive the value to the public. Enjoy your KW convention.
Missy - what a great class..can't wait to hook up with you while you're here in Florida this week!!
